Plot:
Nagaram begins with Selvam (Sundar C), for whom friendship means everything, completing a five-year jail sentence after being falsely implicated. Chakrapandi (Bose Venkat), a police inspector and Selvam’s close friend, urges him to run his shipping business, which the latter agrees to reluctantly.
Selvam manages to create a good impression on Bharathi (played by Anuya of Siva Manasula Sakthi fame), a film extra, in a chance encounter, which ultimately leads to the blossoming of love between them and they decide to get married.
Selvam, meanwhile, has a tough time exorcising his hoary past and is forced to deal in violence with his opponents who are also his trade competitors. Things take a heady, violent twist when Chakrapandi and Selvam get mixed up accidentally with a drug-smuggling cartel. In the face of incriminating evidence, Chakrapandi claims innocence and shifts the blame onto his friend. Whether Selvam manages to overcome the hurdles posed to him forms the remainder of the movie.
